Speaking up about the BESS Storage Plant 

This is the second meeting with the Kokomo Planning Commission on November 12, 2024 for the BESS facility known as Pumpkinvine on Goyer and Lincoln Roads.  The builder was asked at the First Reading on October 8 to return with some answers about safety issues with the plant.  They begin their safety descriptions at 44:34 minutes to 1:53:10 Minutes.  Our rebuttal comments begin at 2:04:45 minutes.  The Common Council voted against the project at 3:17:50. The company can reapply in 6 months.

Speaking up about the Chemical Battery Business – Jaewon

This is the first meeting with the Kokomo Planning Commission on December 10, 2024 regarding rezoning approval for Jaewon, a chemical company serving the Battery Plant.  The discussion on Jaewon begins with a representative for the company, local realtor Paul Wyman at time 2:30 minutes. Our rebuttals and concerns follow with comments by several in our group until the Board voted their approval for the First Reading at 40:00 minutes.

This is a meeting with the Kokomo Common Council on January 13, 2025 regarding rezoning approval for Jaewon, a chemical company serving the Battery Plant.  We presented our concerns about Jaewon during this meeting.  View minute 11:19 for our input against their approving the permit. In spite of our concerns, they approved the First Reading.

This video is our follow-up meeting with the Kokomo Common Council on January 27 regarding the second reading of the rezoning approval for Jaewon, a chemical company serving the Battery Plant.  The meeting begins at minute 4:58 , and the President gives our group a stern lecture at 5:46 regarding our comments from January 13.  They ended up approving the rezoning.
